2013 WA Architecture Awards

The 2013 WA Architecture Awards Exhibition opened this Tuesday with cocktails and canapés in the lobby of QV1. President Elect, David Karotkin made the formal address followed by Phil Gresley’s presentation of this year’s E.G. Cohen Medal.

The awards entries will be displayed until Friday July 12. FREE public viewing hours are 9am-5pm. Looks like this will be as close as I get as the actual awards presentation night (Friday 5 July) comes with a hefty $140 cover charge (see Ticketek).

“This year guests are invited to be ‘wonderstuck’ in one of the state’s grandest examples of modernist architecture, the Perth Concert Hall. For one exclusive night, the Hall will be filled with bespoke design installations, as well as entertainment, flowings wines, scrumptious canapés and a wide array of music from some of the state’s best up-and-coming musicians.

There will be delight,
there will be quirk,
there will be astonishment,
there will be intrigue,
there will be wonder,
will you be there?”
